DJ GIO

Giovanni was a Sacramento native. His career began

and thrived in his hometown of Sacramento.

When you see a person of his status and success its

difficult to grasp the true amount of struggle,

perseverance and determination needed to live such

an enviable lifestyle.

At the young age of eleven years old Gio found his

calling with the help of a record store on K Street. His

destiny was to be the best DJ and he succeeded. He

dreamt big and worked with countless major artists

along the way playing at venues with audiences

upwards of 120,000 people in attendance.

​

A natural born star, his smile, laugh, and energy were

contagious. His humor and antics could make you

laugh for days after seeing him. One of his many gifts

was his ability to move people. If you were lucky

enough to be the center of one of his motivational

talks, you know exactly what these felt like and how

unforgettable they are. He naturally carried an

entrepreneurial mindset always ready for what's next.

When he spoke, you truly knew it was from his heart.

He lifted everyone around him.

Gio was obsessed with his craft, but his driving force

was family. Always family first. A major personal goal

of his was to buy a house big enough for our family.

Words will always fail to express just how much he

loved seeing all of us together. How much he was

everyone's favorite uncle. How much he loved his

momma and how much he was the glue that brought

everyone together.

DJ GIO your light was extinguished far too soon. Your

legacy will live on thru every single soul you touched

with your energy, with the memories you created of

wild nights when you were creator of the soundtracks

that made people dance. We, your family will never

forget everything you've selflessly given to keep us

together.
